A Friend Indeed

      I don't remember the
      last time we talked
      But, I do remember the
      last time I tried

Somewhere,
      Between being busy and ignoring
      we ended up being strangers

      The silence carved a crack
       that was difficult to cross

       The love and care
       got lost in the flow

       Now, shores apart and
       and an ocean between us

         we chose to be strangers who
     once might have known each other.
